Saturday

Hey Heather,

Went to the Nashville No on Prop 8 rally on Saturday. The brave 120 who showed up in the cold rain were a rag tag bunch and half of them were straight. Go figure. Saw my ex, but honestly, who cares anymore. She is so not relevant to me anymore.

Sadly, I didn't know anyone else there...except for the straight people. Wha?
Looking to get more involved on the local level in the LGBT movement.

Not sure if this will be our Stonewall, but we'll see...

Sending pics by phone

Hey Heather,

I got some pics from you via my cell phone. The bad news is that if I want to retrieve them, I have to connect to Sprint's internet...which costs me extra.

So, I sadly ignore these photos. And I hate to ignore photos.

I am big on Facebook.com now, so look me up!

Done

Hey Heather,

Sorry for the delay on the post. Obama won, I took Wednesday off to glow in the warmth of our win. However, we did take a big loss. Propositions in 3 states to ban gay marriage and the ending of gay adoption in Arkansas. One big step forward and a massive punch in the gut. Aaarrgh.

To top it off, Tennessee's government actually added Republicans to its rosters and now have a majority in both houses. Eeek. We may very well be looking to move at some point. I keep telling Stephanie to hurry that schooling up so she can land a great job and plan an escape...

Let's just see how bad it gets here.

Working on the end of the year mix for the holidays.

This year is going to be the frugal holiday as we are paying a lot for plane tickets to Dallas for Michael's wedding, hotel for two nights etc. I will send you and your family my love, some tunes and lots of love.

Almost there

Hey Heather,

Sorry for the very long delay since my last blog. We are hanging in there and my fingernails are chomped to the nub waiting on this election to be over. I had to stop looking up updates on line because it was giving me the hives. Ugh!

Stephanie's birthday was on Halloween and we went lake kayaking and then saw the national tour of "Avenue Q". It was hilarious!!

We had her family over yesterday for pizza and cake. Lots of fun and merriment. Stephanie will be joining my family for Thanksgiving and I will join hers for Xmas. Just like a real couple! :)

Hope you are well. I love you,
Bonnie Lee.

We are voting this week!

Hey Heather,

We are early voting this week on Wednesday. Very excited to get that out of the way and watch the debate. Saw that McCain claims he will "crush Obama". That guy could not crush a saltine.

Saw "Religulous" on Saturday. It was really awesome and I feel a bit empowered in this loopy bible belt. Loved it. Laughed so hard that I cried.

We also got hooked on the HBO series "John Adams". Really good and well done. Just shows that we haven't come too far on the politics side. Very addictive.

I hope you and the family are well and go Obama!

Love, Bonnie Lee.

What the heck?

Hey Heather,

As you can imagine, the whole world is nervous.
Stephanie and I are eating beans and rice all the time, saving our nuts, I'm working late all the time as our business tries to turn jobs and bill as quickly as possible.

Crazy time.

Went to the dictionary

Hey Heather,

I looked up the definition of the word "Maverick".

1.Southwestern U.S. an unbranded calf, cow, or steer, esp. an unbranded calf that is separated from its mother.
2.a lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates.
3.(initial capital letter) an electro-optically guided U.S. air-to-ground tactical missile for destroying tanks and other hardened targets at ranges up to 15 mi. (24 km).

I think McCain is #3.
